中國的百姓有個特點，可能有一部分文化程度不是特別高，但感覺體會是非常靈敏的。從他們對我軟禁半年來看，他們對我的監禁過程，恰恰是讓老百姓親身體會，從而明白的一個過程。可能我花半年時間去做維權工作、去教育他們，都沒有這麽好的效果。
這社會沒有法治，誰的權利都沒有保證，什麽都沒有保證。我覺得最大意義就在這，使每個人負起責任來，對自己的一言一行都為推動社會進步去起到一定的作用，而且相信自己的作用非常大，而且每個人的作用都是不可替代的。
陳光誠：這也是我們所希望的，但我個人的自由只是其一，我希望我們所有中國公民都能重獲真正的自由，並且能爲得到的自由而覺得問心無愧。不是說得到了，就感到高興，最好是覺得這自由是我自己掙來的，這才是真正的光榮。
